About me

I grew up in Canada and then moved to the UK where I lived for almost 30 years. I now live in Berlin and support clients mostly online. After years working in the corporate sector with a focus on organisational and team change, I retrained firstly as a coach and then as a CBT therapist. I understand the realities of the working world including the stress and challenges that can result from our day to day working lives. I have worked with my own challenges around burnout, anxiety, depression and finding meaning. Now I enjoy helping others with practical approaches that deliver results by combining coaching with the power of CBT (cognitive behaviour therapy) to support clients to ‘get out’ of unhelpful patterns such as: overload, lower self-confidence, anxiety, depression, perfectionism, addictive behaviours. In addition, I have worked extensively with LGBTQ+ clients and have a deep expertise in Chemsex, addiction and recovery linked with issues of self-worth and connection. Where necessary, I am able to support getting drugs/alcohol under control before moving into the therapeutic process.

My approach

I use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and when helpful combined with complementary approaches such as mindfulness and coaching. In addition, we review and build well-being activities to support sustained change. The overall process is future and results focused, time limited, is shared with and taught to the you. It is supplemented with a variety of methods and tools to support you to achieve results for the long term around your goals. We review how you manage your well-being and look at ways to enhance these. The CBT approach is underpinned by the philosophy that it is not things or events that upset us, but what we believe about them to help develop a ‘take charge approach’ to life. The clear process helps you to understand where you are going, what is happening and approximately how long change will take. If there are concerns about addiction or substance usage we work firstly on this area before moving into the therapeutic process. If you would like to discuss your needs, have your questions answered and understand how the process works please contact me to book a free c30 minute session.
