Counseling for couples* & individuals in German and English. My methodological focus lies in emotionally-focused-therapy (EFT) for couples & body-oriented systemic therapy. Self-compassion&mindfulness inform all my work
Being passionate about psychology and therapy on both a professional and personal level, I have developed a special interest in the topic of romantic relationships and how to help making them healthy and fulfilling. I have personally experienced how life circumstances and individual characteristics can challenge intimate relationships and on the other hand, how love-relationships can influence how we go through life, e.g. affecting major decisions or, when in crisis, how they can severely impact our well-being and mental health. I am convinced about the importance of healthy love-relationships not only for our individual well-being, but also for our society. In regards to EFT, I am immensely grateful for having found an evidence-based therapy model that fosters strong relationships and helps people (re)connect with their love for one another.
I am able to offer services at a lower fee to a limited number of clients with financial need on a case-by-case basis.
My desire for gaining a deep understanding of intimate relationship dynamics has lead me to EFT (emotionally-focused therapy). EFT is an evidence-based therapy model that is grounded in attachment theory. From the EFT point of view, we are built to connect, to depend on each other when struggling and to seek closeness. Sometimes, as we seek these things in relationships, we end up locked in a negative cycle with our partner where our actions generate further disconnection instead of connection. In my practice, I will help you identify how your personal negative cycle works and what perpetuates it. I will also support you in gradually shifting the way you relate, so you can encounter eachother with more compassion, and feel loved for who you are and what you bring to the relationship.
I work both with couples* and also with individuals, in case only one part of the couple feels ready to seek help.
Being in a romantic relationship isn't a prerequisite for working with me though! You're equally welcome to contact me as a single person.
Methods and psychological constructs that especially inform my work with individual clients are body-oriented systemic therapy, neurobiology, mindfulness, self-compassion, somatic yoga, and differential/personality psychology. With the help of these, I want to help you finding how to get out of patterns of thought, behaviour and emotion that don't serve you. Topics I work with are, among others, depression, anxiety, grief, self-confidence issues.
*including consensually non-monogamous relationships

Next to my online counseling practice with couples and individuals, I work as a psychological counselor for employees, working on the de-stigmatization of mental illness in our society, and provide mental health education in the business context. During my occupation as a trainee-psychotherapist at a psychiatric and psychosomatic in-patient clinic that specializes in addiction recovery and mood disorders and treats people with a wide range of psychiatric conditions, I have gained deep insights into the severer side of the psychopathological spectrum.
I also have experience in working with autistic children and their families, and as a research assistant in the field of cognitive and health psychology at Universität Potsdam. During an internship at BIF (Berliner Institut für Familientherapie), I have deepened my knowledge about systemic therapy and its implementation in family contexts. With both my professional education and my personal experiences with many different kinds of therapy approaches, I have learned how to provide a secure space, a trustful relationship and empowerment for my clients.
