Diese Stile, die ihre Grundlage in der in der Säuglings- und Kindheit erlebten Dynamik zwischen Kind und Bezugsperson haben, setzen sich bis ins Erwachsenenalter fort. Sie manifestieren sich in den Mustern und Verhaltensweisen von engen und romantischen Beziehungen im Erwachsenenalter.

Attachment theory describes the dynamics of interpersonal relationships in the moments of separation, loss and threat. Four different attachment classifications/styles have been identified: secure, anxious, avoidant and disorganized. These styles, which have the basis in the child-caregiver dynamics experienced in infancy and childhood, are carried out to adulthood. They manifest themselves in the patterns and behaviors of adult close and romantic relationships.

These symptoms often result in impulsive actions and problems in relationships. People with borderline personality disorder may experience intense episodes of anger, depression, and anxiety that can last from a few hours to days.

People with borderline personality disorder may experience mood swings and display uncertainty about how they see themselves and their role in the world. As a result, their interests and values can change quickly.

People with borderline personality disorder also tend to view things in extremes, such as all good or all bad. Their opinions of other people can also change quickly. An individual who is seen as a friend one day may be considered an enemy or traitor the next. These shifting feelings can lead to intense and unstable relationships.

Depression, also known as a major depressive disorder, is a common and serious mental illness that negatively affects how you feel, the way you think and how you behave. Depression causes feelings of sadness and/or a loss of interest in activities once enjoyed. It may decrease a person’s ability to function at work and at home. Fortunately, it is also treatable.

Die generalisierte Angststörung (GAD) ist eine psychische Störung, die durch übermäßige und anhaltende Sorgen und Ängste bezüglich verschiedener alltäglicher Situationen und Ereignisse gekennzeichnet ist. Die achtsamkeitsbasierte Therapie kann den Betroffenen auch dabei helfen, Fähigkeiten zur Bewältigung ihrer Angst zu entwickeln, wie z.B. tiefe Atmung, Meditation und andere Entspannungstechniken.
