Education
I initially studied Business. I then trained as a Social Worker specializing in work with Children and Families.
CQSW/Dip SW. 1980 - 1982 in what is now Cardiff Metropoltan University . I also did an earlier training in family therapy. Institute of Family Therapy London. 1977.
I then trained at the Arbours Association 1983 - 1988, Certificate in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy.
I am a member of the Arbours Association of Psychotherapists (UKCP CPPA) registered.I am also an accredited clinical supervisor UKCP (CPPA).
I am a member of The College of Psychoanalysts UK, The Pan Cyprian Association of Psychotherapists (Psychoanalysis and Psychodynamic Chamber) and the European Association of Psychotherapists (EAP). I also hold the ECP.(2013)
Experience
I have been working directly in the field of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy since 1983. In the UK I worked at the Arbours Crisis Centre for over 15 years. This was a higly specialised and Internationally recognised Therapeutic Community . I worked directly with Dr. Joseph Berke one of the founders of the Arbours for over 20 years.
My other relevant expereinces include Psychotherapy in the National Health Service at a Senior Level, Staff Consultancy and Supervison to MIND, Clinical Supervison to NEXUS, Belfast, Northern Ireland an organisation working exclusivly with extreme sexual abuse. I have taught on several psychotherapy trainings and written and presented papers in many places in the UK, Italy, Lebanon and Cyprus, both sides of the divide. I hold the United Nations Certificate in Critical Incident and Stress management.
