I have a never-ending interest in the fields of culture and languages, psychology, holistic health, integrative and nutritional medicine. Since the age of 15 I’ve lived, studied and worked in 7 different countries across 3 continents, and without a doubt the most I’ve learned about life and about myself has been through my migrant/expat experiences and interactions with people from all walks of life. And every time someone trusts me as their therapist, I continue to learn and grow – personally and professionally.
My educational background is in Psychology (University of British Columbia) and Socio-Cultural Studies (University of Groningen/Krakow), followed by a training in professional counselling/psychotherapy (Vancouver College). I am a member of the Association of Cooperative Counselling Therapists of Canada and the International Association for Counselling; I have been working exclusively in the field of mental health for over 5 years – initially at an NGO for family therapy and as part of a holistic clinic team, consequently in my private practice BMpowered Counselling which I founded in Vancouver, Canada.
As I travel back and forth between Europe and Canada I currently offer online sessions, meeting clients from around the world, time zones permitting. I offer sessions in English (native), Bulgarian (native), Italian (advanced) and have a working-level knowledge of French.
