About me
In addition to seeing patients at Sea Level Psychology in Amsterdam, I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist in the state of New York, USA (023357). I am well-versed in working with individuals who identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community and am honored to provide an affirming space for all gender identities and sexual orientations. I offer both in-person and virtual sessions to clients in the Netherlands, especially English-speaking immigrants/expats who are looking for support while living abroad. My cozy and welcoming office is located in Oostenburg.
Before transitioning to private practice, I held a position as a Clinical Assistant Professor in Psychiatry at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine in New York City and was a staff Psychologist at the VA New York Harbor Healthcare System at the Manhattan Campus, where I also served as the LGBTQ+ Veteran Care Coordinator.

My work is patient centered and I work closely with you to understand your needs. I enjoy working with patients who are experiencing anxiety, are adjusting to life in the Netherlands, or are working through difficulties in their relationships. I also have experience working with a range of mental health concerns and diagnoses, and can tailor treatment to you.
My training is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and I integrate psychodynamic principles and process-oriented approaches. This means that while I support you in using concrete skills to improve your quality of life, I also attend to the therapeutic relationship and our work is informed by your early life experiences.

Throughout my career, I have worked with marginalized populations to address all types of mental health needs. I received training at the inpatient psychiatry unit at Stanford University Hospital, substance-use disorders clinics at the San Francisco VA Medical Center, and at the Kaiser Permanente medical system in California.
In New York City, USA, I worked in the adult outpatient department at NYC Health and Hospitals/Bellevue, as well as the Manhattan Veterans Affairs Hospital. I have been in private practice in New York City since 2024, and now also see patients in Amsterdam. I am a member of the IOCDF (International OCD Foundation) and the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT).
