Having worked as a front-line psychologist with refugee populations on Lesvos for over four years, I have developed a well-rounded skill set in mental health assessment, crisis interventions, and psychological first aid services to asylum seekers on Greek islands. Ι have been closely working with vulnerable groups such as victims of torture, survivors of gender-based violence, and clients with active suicidal and/or self-harming behavior. I have acquired a deeper understanding of the cultural background and the social representations on mental health, social relationships, and social beliefs, refugees and migrants have as I have worked with more than 200 people from different countries such as Afghanistan, Syria, DRC, Cameroon, Somalia, South Sudan and other. I have received training and supervision on Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) for individual and group treatment. II have facilitated trainings to more than two hundred field staff & NGO workers on critical topics such as trauma-informed care, psychological first aid, and burnout prevention. My psychodynamic approach gives me a deeper understanding of the clinical assessment and treatment planning of each case and enhances the effectiveness and flexibility of my interventions.
