Originally trained as a psychodynamic Music Therapist, I work flexibly in my approach to focus on your needs using psychodynamic, mindfulness, ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), SMI (Supportive Music and Imagery), creative and body-based techniques. In counselling, you will be "leading" the sessions since you are the expert on yourself.
I believe in working collaboratively with my clients. If something doesn't fit your needs, then we can always make a change. We are both working together to help you reach your goals, achieve better mental well-being, and a better understanding of yourself and others.
I work with clients on an ongoing weekly or bi-weekly basis. The counselling process is entirely individual and depends on your goals and what you bring to sessions. I am here to listen in a non-judgmental way and support you in reaching your goals.
Additionally, I use Supportive Music and Imagery (SMI) counselling in my practice. SMI is a transformative approach that combines music, art, and guided reflection to promote mental well-being. Sessions are usually held bi-weekly in series of 6-10, or integrated with long-term counselling.
These sessions are available 1:1 and in groups. Register for the group here: https://www.arulacounselling.com/groups (starting on 6 November 2025).
