Hej! I'm a Swedish therapist (MBACP) in Berlin with Scottish training background. My humanistic approach draws on a deep valuing of your own unique growth process, promoting thriving through compassionate self-awareness
I grew up in Scandinavia, within what I often experienced as a stiflingly conformist society, where there seemed to be little room for the authentic and eccentric. Later, during my near-decade of study and work in Scotland, I had the opportunity to delve deeper into different subcultures and to encounter new perspectives and experiences. I became increasingly inspired by the experiential and relational dimensions of psychology, and particularly by more daring and process-oriented approaches to psychotherapy
The complex interplay between otherness, with its potential for both freedom and alienation, and belonging—finding one’s tribe while still missing family and home—has been a recurring theme. It is a bittersweet process that I also encounter repeatedly in the therapy room
In Berlin I’ve expanded my therapy work through training in psychedelic therapy, and have co-facilitated psychedelic integration workshops alongside my private practice, which is my main focus. I feel privileged to encounter individuals in the midst of their own particular change process, where the universal and the personal often find ways to speak with each other, gradually (or suddenly) more fluently
My impression is consistently that people indeed have a powerful inner sense of direction and source of self-nurture, and that this resource often becomes suppressed by our unrecognised interpretations from overwhelming experiences in various past and present relationships. 'Living well', to my mind, includes being able to stay in close and accepting contact with what our whole body is quietly (or loudly) trying to tell us, without adding pressure to this sensitive system. Exploring and integrating this inner depth can be an effective way to find a stronger sense of connection, meaning and agency in our everyday experiencing, with room for a wide range of emotions and nuance
My approach is to stay close to the moment-to-moment experience - 'tracking' your process, both in order to understand your particular world and to promote self-awareness by offering non-judgmental reflections. I see myself as an intrinsic part of the therapeutic relationship, and strive to communicate any hunches, intuitions and sensations that appear to me as relevant for you to hear. As a therapist who values relational congruence I stay humble to my limitations in knowing what's ultimately right for you, and yet I feel fully committed to the potential to co-create a unique and trusting environment for you to develop a richer and more self-actualising way of being. I'll encourage you to set the direction and pace of our work - my agenda is first and foremost to meet you exactly where you are and offer genuine acceptance alongside empathic curiosity
I currently work both in-person at Practice Mittelweg 50 in Neukölln, Berlin, and online with clients residing within Europe. Feel welcome to get in touch if you’re interested in ‘working’ together!
