I use Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal and Social Rhythm Therapy (IPSRT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE) approaches.
Psychotherapy is a clearly structured process with a certain logic, and it involves regular sessions. One-time or chaotic meetings most likely will not lead to the desired result.
Cognitive behavioral therapy consists of several stages:
1) Clarification of the problems and goals of therapy, information gathering, drawing up a conceptualization about client's situation together with client.
2) Summarizing how the problem maintain itself and how it functions. Discussion of the therapy plan.
3) Work on goals in accordance with evidence-based protocols and common sense.
4) Anti-relapse work, booster (support) sessions, completion of therapy.
Usually meetings take place once a week. In some cases meetings take place 2 times a week or 2 times a month.
The duration of the psychotherapy depends on the protocol recommendations, as well as the individual request.
