I am using an integrative approach. I am assessing the needs, strong points and weaknesses of each individual person I work with and I try to adjust the way I work to those points for each person. In the first few sessions, I try to understand if the problem originates from a nutritional poing, a psychological point or a combination of the two, which helps in setting the goals in therapy. In the nutritional side of the problem, my goal is to guide people towards an intuitive way of eating, in which you can understand what your body needs and take care of your body by offering that. Similarly, we will work towards understanding what the psychological and emotional needs are and find a way to deal with those. By doing that, food stops being the only copying mechanism.
