CBT Therapist, Clinical Psychologist in Istanbul
My main areas of focus are anxiety disorders, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder and anger management. I conduct both online and face-to-face psychotherapy sessions. Languages spoken are English and Turkish.
I'm a clinical psychologist and a cognitive behavioral therapist based in Istanbul. I've obtained my Bachelor's and Master's degree in Turkey and since then I've attended many international trainings, congresses and workshops. Living in a lively city with people from all around the world, I've worked with a lot of expats from different backgrounds which expanded my understanding of cultural sensitivities. I mainly conduct online sessions these days due to the pandemic but I also do face-to-face sessions at a private clinic in Nişantaşı, İstanbul.
I started training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in 2016 and since then I've been using it in my work. My goal as a CBT therapist is to help my clients see the connections between their thoughts, emotions and behaviors and challenge the unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaving that keep the problem going. I also help my clients become their own therapist throughout this process using evidence-based techniques and I believe this is the most effective way of preventing relapse. I've also trained in Accepting and Commitment Therapy which is considered a third wave CBT therapy. I specialize in generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, specific phobias, health anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder and anger management.
