About me

Hello, I've studied philosophy during my bachelor. Though, it was a psychology-rich philosophy education where I followed a lot of psychology courses as well as philosophy courses related to psychology such as 'Freud, Jung, and Philosophy of Unconscious', 'Philosophy of Mind' and 'Philosophies of the Self'. Thereafter, I completed a pre-master year in psychology and completed psychology undergraduate courses at the University of Groningen, one of the top 100 universities in the world. Afterwards, I have earned an MSc degree in Clinical Psychology from the same university. My master thesis topic was 'Effect of social interactions on self-esteem and negative affect in psychopathy and narcissism groups'. I worked in a clinic in the Netherlands after my graduation and then turned back to Turkey. I am very passionate as well as compassionate about my therapies. It is sincerely my way of self-actualization after I have myself constantly dealed with problems in my life. My approach

*I also offer a 15-minute free meeting. before starting therapy.* I work in accordance with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I apply CBT therapy modalities to Anxiety Disorders, Mood Disorders, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders, and other disorders in the DSM V. I also enjoy putting positive psychology elements into my therapy. I am a detail-oriented analytic thinker. So, besides the time I spend in sessions, I value background work, such as diagnostic reports, treatment plans, and routine outcome monitoring. I find the balance between evidence-based interventions -acting based on national guidelines and following treatment protocols- and creative spontaneity. Furthermore, I greatly value cooperation, sincere and open communication, and feedback. CBT is scientifically the most effective therapy form for many disorders. It is an umbrella term for different therapy components/modalities like Prolonged Exposure, Behavioral Activation, Cognitive Restructuring, Exposure with Response Prevention, and Interoceptive Exposure. CBT is present-oriented, time-limited, goal-oriented, and structured. You can learn more about CBT through this link: https://beckinstitute.org/about/understanding-cbt/ I follow the national guidelines of the Netherlands. You can also access them through this link: https://www.ggzstandaarden.nl/ I believe real therapy takes focus, mental effort, and time dedicated to each individual. I don't believe seeing 40 patients a week does the trick. That's why I have a limit of 15 patients and I take no more than that at a given time.
