My approach is based on the belief that we have an unconscious life that impacts our conscious actions and that in order to develop a good relationship with both ourselves and the world we need to enter a dialogue with it. I believe that this dialogue can be facilitated and enhanced by the analytical relationship with a qualified professional.
I believe that many symptoms like anxiety, panic, depression, obsessive tendencies, uncontrollable emotions, challenges in our relationships are signals that indicate to us that it is time to listen to ourselves and start a journey of re-discovery, rather than a malfunction or a fault in our psyche: sometimes we try too hard to accomodate models of behaviour that are not compatible with who we are and how we function. Sometimes we are very hard on ourselves, we interiorise an inner critic that prevents us from seeing our potentialities. We need to make friends with ourselves, we need to get to know ourselves.
I am committed to a person centred approach to the client that focuses on the individual needs to provide a judgement-free environment in which the journey of self-discovery and self-befriending can happen.
