I use the Gottman approach to help couples learn conflict management, find new ways to communicate and cooperate with each other, build a positive perspective and trust, share fondness, and make life dreams come true. This approach is equally beneficial in individual therapy for clients dealing with their own relationship issues.
I have enjoyed working with expatriates for 14 years, learning from their diverse experiences. I was born in Slovakia and have lived and worked in the UK, Germany, and Czechia. This background has given me insight into the challenges of adapting to different study, work, and living environments. Additionally, being in a culturally mixed relationship myself has provided me with a personal experience with the issues typically faced by cross-cultural expat couples.
We're all unique, thus I tailor my approach to each client's needs, incorporating various methods:
👉MINDFULNESS means cultivating awareness where each present thought, feeling, or sensation is acknowledged and accepted. This helps to understand your problem, your needs and pre-conditions, which is the first step to finding a way out of the unwanted situation.
👉GOTTMAN APPROACH for confict management and relationship issues.
👉FOCUSING is a gentle way to pay attention to what you actually feel inside so that your feelings begin to change and you understand yourself better in the process.
👉PROCESSWORK to follow the process (that is, deep feelings, dreams, signals, and events) to resolve issues.
👉PSYCHODRAMA to play and experience conflicts and difficult situations from outer world in a safe enviornment with empathetic support.
👉VISUALISATIONS to uncover your dreams, wishes and expectations.
Clients often appreciate that I can readily understand and address their work-related issues during psychotherapy or coaching sessions, drawing on my professional experience in consultancy, project management, and business.
