I am Simona Ortolani, a professional counselor enrolled in the Italian Register of Counselors S.I.Co. in Rome, author and voice of the podcast about books "Gli Scimmioni non leggono Nietzsche" and on the podcast about music connecting people "Mille voci, un solo canto", attending the Master in Interreligious Dialogue at ISE in Venice, a graduate in Foreign Languages and Literature, an amateur violinist and “serial learner”.
Work and personal inclination led me to meet people of all ages, nationalities, and cultures, and with all of them it came naturally to me to practice unconditional listening.
“Nomen omen” – i.e. your name is your fate – the Latins used to say. My name comes from the ancient “shamá” (to listen) and Simona means “who listens” or “she has listened.” In fact, what I do best in life, so they say, is listening (in addition to baking a popular lemon pie).
I am Italian and live in a seaside town in Italy with my daughter and three cats.
