1. My approach includes creating a safe space to be yourself. To give you strength and compassion when you feel down. To understand the real you and the human you. To do this I will rely on the humanistic approach.
2. Building a good rapport with you and strengthening our relationship is also important. For this, i would use open-ended questions, positive regard, active listening, and paraphrasing your feelings so we are on the same page in understanding.
3. I mostly follow cognitive behavior therapy where we talk about our thoughts, try to go deeper into their roots, rationalize them with care and compassion, and see what the alternative thoughts can be. Behavioral execution or change comes at the end, only when you are fully aware and comfortable with your thoughts.
4. I also focus on being mindful and being in the present with some mindfulness techniques that also help you with stress responses panic attacks, overthinking, etc.
5. Above all, I and any therapy session must tailor the therapeutic skills according to the client's needs. So we would work according to what suits you best :)
