I am a Mental Health Counsellor and Cognitive Behavioural Therapist. I work with adults online and in-person, in Athens. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is a form of psychological treatment that seems to be effective for a range of problems including depression, anxiety, panic attacks, relationship problems, severe mental illness etc. Research has shown that CBT has led to significant improvement in functioning and quality of life. CBT is based on the concept that your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and actions are interconnected, and that negative thoughts and feelings can trap you in a negative cycle. CBT aims to help you deal with overwhelming problems in a more positive way by breaking them down into smaller parts. You're shown how to change these negative patterns to improve the way you feel. It looks for practical ways to improve your state of mind on a daily basis Finally, CBT treatment involves efforts to change thinking patterns. Each session lasts 50' - 60' on a weekly basis.
