I have spent the past 9 years working as a therapist and psychologist in a range of environments. My recent work has included interventions such as relationship counselling, behaviour modification, trauma recovery, building positive self-esteem, helping clients address phase of life problems, cognitive therapy, and mediation for a variety of clientele. I am skilled in using a variety of therapeutic approaches, including play therapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy, solution-focused therapy, and family systems therapy.
My extensive experience has seen me work with both adults and children of varying ages and cultural backgrounds, presenting with a diverse range of complaints and conditions. I can communicate effectively with clients and adapt my style and techniques according to individual needs and personalities. I enjoy the challenges of working with different people and find the work incredibly rewarding.
I am a highly effective therapist who is able to build strong relationships with my clients. I am also an excellent listener and have a deep understanding of the human experience. My clients have often remarked on my ability to make them feel safe and understood. I am very passionate about amplifying young people’s voices and this is central to my work with them, their families and other agencies involved.
I have authored 2 children’s books and 1 teenage/adults’ book on promoting positive mental health and building resilience. The title of the series is "Keeping It Together in a Crazy and Uncertain World," and they are currently available on Amazon. I also co-authored a chapter in a published article titled " Psychological Trauma and Stress from Covid-19 Pandemic: Effects on Mental Health."
