Hello, my name is Durrah and I am a queer-friendly Arab therapist living and working in the Middle East. I am a psychodynamic therapist and mental health professional with a background in neuroscience and neuroimaging.
My clinical work is grounded in both scientific understanding and emotional depth, integrating modalities such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), Existential Psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I hold an Integrated Master’s degree in Psychology from the University of York, and my practice is further informed by ongoing EMDR Europe training with Mirabilis Health, UK (2025).
Over the years, I have worked with adults navigating a wide range of challenges including mood, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive, trauma-related, and personality disorders. I have a particular focus on supporting clients from marginalized and queer communities, emphasizing compassion, respect, and collaboration. Alongside therapy, I specialize in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) for treatment-resistant conditions such as depression, OCD, PTSD, and anxiety, blending neuroscience with psychotherapy.
My practice extends beyond the therapy room through psychoeducation, writing, and advocacy for mental health awareness. I believe that understanding the brain and mind can empower people to approach healing with curiosity rather than fear.
