What is stress?

Stress is a natural physiological response to demands or pressures in life, whether they be physical, emotional, or psychological. While some level of stress can be motivating and even beneficial, chronic or excessive stress can have detrimental effects on both mental and physical health. Common stressors include work or school deadlines, financial pressures, relationship conflicts, and major life changes. When stress becomes overwhelming or prolonged, it can lead to symptoms such as irritability, anxiety, fatigue, and difficulty concentrating.
