My name is Panayiota, and I am a mental health counselor (counseling psychologist). I offer counseling to support individuals in moving forward on their own unique paths, because there is no single way that is right for everyone. In therapy, we work together toward your goals, at your pace, in a space where you are met with understanding, empathy, and respect.
I was born and raised in Limassol, Cyprus, a small island in the eastern Mediterranean Sea. In 2022, I moved to the Netherlands to pursue my master’s degree in counseling psychology at Webster Leiden University, and I’ve since made it my home.
In our first session, which is offered free of charge, I guide clients through a clinical intake form. This helps us create a clear and holistic picture of who they are, their life experiences, and their relationships with other people. From there, we begin identifying the goals they wish to work on in therapy.
While we may start with specific objectives, my practice is open and flexible. Clients are warmly encouraged to bring in any topics they wish to explore, whether connected to the intake or simply what’s present in their lives at the moment. This is a space where all thoughts, feelings, and experiences are welcome.
I understand well the complexities of the immigrant and expat experience. Like many people, I know what it means to face difficult decisions and uncertainty, to struggle, but also to grow. I believe deeply in human resilience and in our capacity to change, especially when we are given a safe space to explore ourselves with honesty and care.
