Hello, I’m Gizem, a psychologist and neuropsychologist based in the Amsterdam. I hold a BSc in Psychology with a minor in Molecular Biology and Genetics, and an MSc in Neuropsychology from Maastricht University. Over the years, I’ve gained diverse clinical and research experience, working in hospital settings, rehabilitation centers, and community mental health services. I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults facing challenges such as neurodevelopmental conditions (e.g., Autism, ADHD), brain injuries, cognitive difficulties, substance use disorders, trauma, and other mental health challenges.
I currently work as a therapist within the Dutch mental health care system, providing therapy to clients with a wide range of psychological profiles. My role includes conducting diagnostic assessments, offering insight into client functioning, and supporting treatment planning.
In addition to therapy, I draw on my neuropsychology background to provide workshops, rehabilitation programs, and assessments for individuals experiencing cognitive, emotional, or behavioral difficulties. I have experience supporting clients in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, outpatient clinics, and community programs, including those with neurological conditions, learning difficulties, memory or attention challenges, and post-injury cognitive rehabilitation.
I am trained and actively practice Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and EMDR, integrating evidence-based approaches with empathy, collaboration, and cultural sensitivity. I aim to create a safe, supportive space where clients can explore challenges, gain insight, and develop practical strategies for personal growth.
Outside of my professional work, I have volunteered at asylum seeker centers and continue to pursue ongoing professional development, reflecting my commitment to lifelong learning and high-quality care.
