About me

Hello, I'm Tatiana a Russian-speaking a gestalt therapist and couples counsellor based in Amsterdam. I work mainly with Russian-speaking expats and international professionals living in the Netherlands. I also work with adults, couples, and families who are going through difficult periods in their lives or looking for more balance and understanding. Before I became a psychologist, I spent more than 25 years working in international business and finance. It was a fast-moving world with a lot of responsibility, deadlines, and pressure. During those years, I also experienced what it means to build a life in another country. Like many of my clients, I had to adapt to a new culture, build a new career, and create a sense of home far away from where I started. The longer I worked in business, the more I realised that what interested me most was not the work itself, but the people behind it. I saw how many successful, capable people were struggling with stress, burnout, anxiety, relationship problems, or simply feeling lost. I wanted to understand those experiences better and support people in a more meaningful way. That is why I decided to become a psychologist and Gestalt therapist. Today, I enjoy working with people from different countries and different walks of life. Many of my clients are trying to find their place between two cultures, manage demanding careers, build healthy relationships, or go through important life changes. Because of my own professional and international experience, I understand many of these challenges not only as a psychologist, but also as a person.

Approach

Treatment Approaches
Couples therapySupport for couples working through problems and who want to gain insight into the relational dynamics that contribute to the problem.
Gestalt therapyRecommended for those who want to focus on the present and take responsibility for their feelings and actions to promote personal growth.
Solution-focused therapyRecommended for those who want quick, practical solutions to their problems without focusing too much time on the past.

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially if you've never done it before. You don't need to know exactly what to say or even what you want to work on. We simply begin with whatever feels most important to you.

My role is to offer a calm and supportive space where you can slow down and talk openly, without feeling judged or rushed. Together, we explore what's happening in your life and what may be keeping you stuck.

I work from a Gestalt therapy perspective. This means we don't only talk about your thoughts. We also pay attention to your emotions, your relationships, and what you're experiencing in the present moment. Sometimes we discover that ways of coping which once helped you are no longer working. When we understand these patterns, it becomes easier to make different choices.

At times, I may invite you to notice what you're feeling in your body, try a simple exercise, or look at a situation from a different perspective. Everything we do is an invitation, never an obligation. We move at a pace that feels right for you.

I don't see therapy as a place where someone tells you how to live your life. I see it as a place where you can understand yourself more deeply, reconnect with your own strengths, and find new ways of meeting life's challenges. Often, as people become more aware of themselves, they begin to feel calmer, more confident, and more connected to others.

I work with individuals and couples who are experiencing anxiety, stress, burnout, relationship difficulties, loneliness, life transitions, or the challenges of living abroad. Some people come with a clear problem they want to solve. Others simply know that something doesn't feel right anymore. Whatever brings you here, we'll explore it together.
