After over 2 years working in two large international clinics in the Hague and Amsterdam, I am now working with clients independently in a beautiful office and community: Stories in Amsterdam.
As an international myself, I am can understand the challenge associated with experiencing a new city, country and culture. Originally from the UK, I have gained experience working with international children and teenagers in various contexts. I love working creatively with young people and parents, using art, music or movement in treatment. Connecting with clients and finding ways to incorporate their interests into sessions is incredibly important in my role.
As well as working in a traditional 1-1 therapy environment, I also work in a specialised daycare setting as an educator for children with Autism. In this setting, my work is focused on the principles of DIR/Floortime, which guides my efforts in supporting the cognitive and social-emotional development of children with Autism. I also work collaboratively with other specialists, such as speech, movement and sensory integration experts.
