I work with people who feel stuck, disconnected, overwhelmed, or caught in patterns that keep them from living fully. I help you reconnect with your inner life, yourself, and the people around you.
Many of the people I work with are functioning on the outside, but feel disconnected on the inside. They may struggle with anxiety, depression, overthinking, self-doubt, relationship difficulties, or a sense that they have lost touch with themselves.
Growing up between Suriname, California, and the Netherlands has given me an understanding of what that is like. Moving between continents, cultures, and languages taught me firsthand what it means to puzzle together the pieces of your being and belonging; the constant tension between adapting to the world and staying true to yourself. I have also experienced how this can lead to losing touch with your feelings, your sense of direction, yourself. That experience is at the heart of why I do this work. I am driven to help people navigate the balance of authentic self-expression and meaningful connection to the world around them.
What others say about me:
"He listens attentively, is warm and comes across as calm and grounded. Ricardo immediately gave me a sense of ease and trust. The way he works radiates genuine engagement and professionalism. As a coach and therapist myself, I am selective in my choice of professionals, but with Ricardo I had a very good feeling straight away."
Warmth, curiosity, and attunement are the foundation of how I work. I create a space where you feel genuinely seen, supported and safe to explore what lies beneath the surface.
Together we explore and work through your thoughts, feelings and needs as they are occurring in the session and your current life circumstances. This way we focus on what really matters to you, in your life, right now. We also explore how your current difficulties are shaped by important past experiences, not to stay there, but to resolve the tangles these experiences have left you with. To grow through them, towards a way of being that is more free.
I help you develop your own capacity for embodiment and expression. We track how patterns live in your body, for example, tension, shutdown, restlessness, and numbness, but also feelings of calm, confidence, and happiness. We work with these experiences directly. Over time, this helps you reconnect with yourself and your most valuable guide in navigating your life and the world; your body.
I offer a free first session. This gives us a chance to meet, explore what you're dealing with, and decide together if we're a good fit.
