About me

I completed my training in the UK and I am a registered psychologist with the The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). I hold a doctorate in clinical psychology and I have over six years of clinical experience providing psychological assessment and therapy for people from different backgrounds, at different stages of life, and relating to a range of presenting concerns. Central to my clinical practice is providing a calm and supportive space for you to step towards difficulties that you have experienced and develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your life. I work with compassion and respect for individual differences, and believe that therapy can provide a context for making positive changes that align with your values and goals.

Approach

Treatment Approaches
ACT: Acceptance and Commitment TherapyRecommended for those who want to stop fighting negative thoughts and learn how to live with more acceptance and focus on what really matters in life.
CBT: Cognitive behavioral therapyRecommended for those looking for practical support and accountability to change unhelpful thinking and behaviors.
EMDRRecommended for those dealing with trauma who want to process painful memories in a structured way to reduce their emotional impact.
My training and professional experience has taught me to me to use an integrative approach. This means I draw on different psychological models according to your needs. Some of the models that I often utilise include Cognitive and Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, Eye-Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Systemic Therapy. Inherent to my approach, and the models I utilise, is understanding therapy is a collaborative process which encourages and builds on your unique strengths and skills. I have worked with people at many different stages of life, and on a range of issues. Some of the concerns that I have experience working with include feelings of stress and anxiety, low mood, low self-esteem, trauma, grief, living with chronic pain, and relationship difficulties. However, I also know that sometimes the reason for starting therapy is not so easy to identify or express; I am experienced in working with this, and at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Experience

I have over eight years of working clinically as a psychologist which has included experience working with feelings of stress and anxiety, low mood, low self-esteem, trauma, grief, living with chronic pain, and relationship difficulties. I have worked with people at many different stages of life, going through transitions and adjusting to new change. The majority of my clinical experience is from working within the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK. Since 2023 I have been based in Amsterdam and working independently. I am accredited with the UK Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). I am also a chartered member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and a member of the Nederlands Instituut van Psychologen (NIP).
