My training and professional experience has taught me to me to use an integrative approach. This means I draw on different psychological models according to your needs. Some of the models that I often utilise include Cognitive and Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, Eye-Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Systemic Therapy. Inherent to my approach, and the models I utilise, is understanding therapy is a collaborative process which encourages and builds on your unique strengths and skills.
I have worked with people at many different stages of life, and on a range of issues. Some of the concerns that I have experience working with include feelings of stress and anxiety, low mood, low self-esteem, trauma, grief, living with chronic pain, and relationship difficulties. However, I also know that sometimes the reason for starting therapy is not so easy to identify or express; I am experienced in working with this, and at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
