I use a systemic approach with a clear structure. Thus, during the first session, we clarify your situation, identify the main problem, and outline ways out of the impasse. To do this, we build a trusting dialogue in which it is safe for you to open up. It is crucial that you, as the client, determine the direction and depth of changes.
Then, we formulate clear criteria for achieving the goal. Specific situations where you will act and feel differently in the future. The next stage is preparation for changes. You should perceive your new lifestyle as safe, manageable, ethically acceptable, and very attractive. Every problem has secondary gains. For example, illness can bring additional sympathy and care from loved ones. To achieve the goal, we neutralize secondary gains.
