I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist living and working in Athens, Greece. Siince 2007 until August 2019, I have worked for the National Public Health Organization, the Greek equivalent for CDC. My occupational fields included working with HIV positive individuals in terms of counseling and psychotherapy, also with general population in terms of prevention and education. Since October 2011, I worked as a psychologist at the Halfway House for HIV positive and indigent adults. Most of the population residing was immigrants and refugees, mainly from Africa or Western Asia. Working with these people in private sessions and group meetings, developed my interest in cross-cultural issues and social discrimination. I have also worked in the Greek Council for Refugees with victims of trafficking.
Since May 2016, I work as part-time consulting psychologist in the KonTerra group, a consultant company based in Washington DC. The company’s work is to help organizations and their people, working in challenging environments, develop solutions that sharpen clarity, strengthen resilience and incorporate learning. My work includes offering psychological support, stress management and supervision sessions via Skype or in person to staff members of international NGOs. Since October 2019, I hold a similar position in a Greek consultant company, Hellas EAP, engaging in employee support and counselling, stress and behavioral risk management and crisis intervention.
Throughout these years, I have been working as a psychotherapist in my private practice, which I continue doing untill today. I work with adults and adolescents. Finally, I recently completed my training in Animal Assisted Therapy, from the French Institute of Animal Assisted Therapy (Institut Francais de Zootherapie). My two great loves in life are animals and music :)
