I am a trained and qualified Counsellor with hundreds of hours of practice supporting clients from around the world. I work with clients to improve their relationships, confidence and to support decision making.
I’m Becca — a specialist Counsellor. I work with individuals, couples and families to help them better understand themselves and the dynamics that relationships bring. Individually, I am here to be a supportive guide in self-exploration, and if I am working with couples or families, I help you all to see the bigger the picture of the dynamic and the roles and values that are creating tension.
For many years my specialism has been family estrangement and I have trained other therapists in this area. I understand the pain of broken family relationships, going low or no contact and decision making about having a relationship with family members who feel unsafe or harmful.
Drawing on over a decade of experience developing support models, conducting research, and facilitating meaningful change, I aim to empower people to understand their experiences, build resilience, and move forward with greater clarity and self‑compassion.
Additionally, I have many hours supporting people with specific issues, such as addiction, gender and sexuality questions, self-confidence and surviving abuse and neglect.
I am a trained counsellor and for many years I have been coaching too. My approach is compassionate and person centred. I want to stand with you in what is moving for you and help you create more awareness of how you feel, understand your emotions and give you the confidence to create the life that you want. This can be practically, or emotionally. It could be that you want to talk through an event happening now or one from the past or both. I can help you to express yourself in a safe, compassionate environment. I offer constructive challenge when I notice limiting beliefs, and I help clients reframe their thinking and draw awareness to unhelpful conditioning.
I have spent the last five years in private practice, working one to one with individual clients and families. I only work online and have a lot of experience with making digital therapy effective and value for money for my clients.
Before this I was a journalist, writer and researcher. My PhD addresses the psychological and societal struggles faced by those with broken family ties, and I have an honorary doctorate (D. Litt) for my research and campaigning contribution.
My therapeutic qualifications are from the Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors (PGDip) and I am registered with the ACA. My training gave me specialisms in grief and loss, relationships and recovery from abuse.
