About me

Hi! I’m Jennifer, a Canadian psychotherapist. I've spent many years living abroad in Barcelona, and I know how challenging it can be to build a life far from home — the instability, uncertainty, loneliness, and loss of direction, community, and purpose. From the start of my studies, I wanted to know more about the connection between mental and physical well-being. That's why I have degrees in both Psychology and Nutrition from Western University in Canada. But I also want to know what actually helps people change - and make that change last. That led me to pursue a 2-year post-graduate diploma in Problem-Solving Brief Therapy with extensive supervision, so I could offer tools that are not just insightful but also actionable and effective. I also have ADHD, which made me dive even deeper into working with neurodivergence. I've completed further training in this area and am a certified ADHD Professional (ADHD-CCSP). My main specialities are: - Anxiety & depression - Binge & emotional eating - ADHD In more general day-to-day terms, that tends to cover: - Self-criticism - People pleasing - Perfectionism - Overthinking - Procrastination, motivation ("feeling stuck"), habit formation - Suppressing, exploding (emotions) ..and more.

Approach

Treatment Approaches
CBT: Cognitive behavioral therapyRecommended for those looking for practical support and accountability to change unhelpful thinking and behaviors.
Integrative therapy Recommended for those who prefer a flexible approach that combines different therapies to meet their unique needs.
Solution-focused therapyRecommended for those who want quick, practical solutions to their problems without focusing too much time on the past.
I focus on practical solutions that help you move forward, without getting stuck in overthinking. My approach is solution-focused and integrative. I draw from different evidence-based methods, including third-wave CBT, humanistic, interpersonal, and systemic models, tailoring the process to what works best for you. What sets my work apart is my use of Problem-Solving Brief Therapy techniques. Together, we identify what’s getting in your way right now and apply concrete strategies to build momentum, self-efficacy, and real-world results. We won’t get stuck endlessly analyzing the past — instead, we’ll build strategies you can use today. When past experiences come up, we’ll work through them thoughtfully, without losing focus on the present progress you're here to make.
