About me
I am an Swiss-Pakistani Canadian psychologist. I completed my PhD in Counseling Psychology at the University of Southern California and have lived in Barcelona for 20 years. I can work with you on problems in living, existentential issues, relationship issues, in addition to mental health challenges like depression and anxiety. My goal is to provide you with the change you seek, be it through the application of strategies to live the life you want given the givens or to explore deeper life and self issues, or both. I am honored to have the opportunity to work as a psychotherapist with people from all over the world experiencing a rather amazing array of life situations. I have a strong commitment to diversity, social justice, and see my role as one of faciliating insight, personal growth, and living a fulfilling and meaningful life.

Approach
I see therapy as consisting of two principle elements. One focuses on self-exploration and looking within, with the goal of making some sense of oneself. As amazing as it is to gain insight to one's patterns, desires, fears and so, it can also be helpful to have strategies to help manage oneself to be able to move towards one's goals (which sometimes also need to be identified).
I believe that therapy needs to be tailored to each person, however an experiential approach that thematizes emotional, cognitive, and somatic aweress is central.
