About me

My Background & Philosophy

Having navigated life and work in both the USA and Europe (Serbia), I draw deeply from this international background to better understand the diverse worlds my clients come from. I have a deep, lived understanding of what it means to manage major life transitions, adapt to new cultural environments, and handle the unique pressures of modern professional life. This cross-cultural experience allows me to bring deep cultural sensitivity, responsiveness, and humility to our sessions.

My perspective is shaped by the idea that you already possess the innate capacity for meaningful transformation and resilience; my role as a psychologist and psychotherapist is to guide you in unlocking it. Over the years, I have found that challenging yourself mentally, emotionally, and physically ultimately leads to a life filled with healthy, thriving connections. When you are willing to examine your internal landscape, a path to genuine relief and clarity is revealed.

My Working Style: Warm, Engaged, and Active

In our work, I blend deep, compassionate listening with active engagement. I am not a passive therapist who sits in silence; I am right there in the trenches with you. This means I will gently challenge you, highlight the blind spots or repetitive loops where you might be stuck, and actively champion your personal growth. Our sessions are dynamic and highly collaborative. We will work together to make sense of your past experiences while focusing heavily on the tangible, practical changes you can make in your present day-to-day life.

Areas of Focus & Specialization

I specialize in both individual and couples therapy, helping clients navigate the complex, often messy terrain of modern relationships and personal mental health. Because I understand the intersection of high-pressure environments and emotional well-being, my practice focuses heavily on:

  • Navigating Relationship Transitions: Supporting individuals and couples through massive life shifts, such as welcoming a new baby, transitioning into parenthood, or managing the intricate dynamics of long-distance relationships.

  • Overcoming Burnout & Professional Challenges: Helping high-achievers, professionals, and expats manage workplace stress, conquer imposter syndrome, and establish firm, healthy boundaries between their career and personal lives.

  • Emotional Regulation, Grief & Mental Well-being: Providing structured, evidence-based support for those struggling with anxiety, depression, chronic worry, anger management, grief and loss, and emotional overwhelm.

  • Self-Exploration & Breaking Cycles: Guiding individuals to understand their core emotional triggers, dismantle unhealthy coping habits, and build an authentic sense of self-acceptance and self-worth.

A Multilingual, Global Practice

Because human emotion is best expressed in the language closest to your heart, I offer therapy fluently in English, Serbian, Croatian, Montenegrin, and Bosnian. Whether you are an expat looking for an English-speaking practitioner who understands the nuances of living abroad, or someone looking to do deep therapeutic work in your native language, I provide a culturally adaptive space tailored entirely to your worldview.

Approach

Treatment Approaches
CBT: Cognitive behavioural therapyRecommended for those looking for practical support and accountability to change unhelpful thinking and behaviors.
CounsellingRecommended for those who want to talk through their emotional challenges with a professional in a safe, supportive environment.
Couples therapySupport for couples working through problems and who want to gain insight into the relational dynamics that contribute to the problem.

I view therapy as an active, hands-on journey and partnership. Sitting across from me—whether on a screen or in person—means entering a safe environment rooted in compassion, warmth, and curiosity. Together, we won't just look backward; we will actively examine the present patterns, triggers, and reactions that are keeping you feeling stuck, working to disrupt those unhealthy habits so you can build a stronger sense of self-awareness and authentic self-acceptance.

I recognize that you might only spend one hour a week with me; the real transformation happens during the other 167 hours of your week. To support you outside of our sessions, I provide tangible resources tailored to your specific needs to accelerate your growth. After our sessions, you will receive follow-up notes and relevant educational materials. This includes actionable practices to try in your daily life, reflective quizzes, ABC diaries to track cognitive triggers, and targeted questions to ponder between sessions to keep your self-awareness expanding.

For Individual Sessions, we target the internal barriers to your fulfillment. We will work closely together to address:

  • Anxiety, Depression, & Mood Management: Understanding the root causes of low mood or chronic worry, and building active tools to regulate anger and emotional distress.

  • Burnout & Professional Challenges: Navigating workplace stress, imposter syndrome, and establishing firm personal and professional boundaries.

  • Self-Exploration & Healing: Breaking free from old, repetitive behavioral loops, boosting self-worth, and establishing authentic self-acceptance.

For Couples & Premarital Counseling, I provide specific themes and subjects for us to dig into during our time together, paired with intentional exercises and deep questions to reflect on at home. This structure ensures that your relationship has a clear roadmap for repair, communication, and intimacy building. Some of the common areas we navigate together include:

  • Premarital Counseling: Proactively aligning your values, exploring expectations around finances, family, and roles, and building a rock-solid communication foundation before walking down the aisle.

  • Breaking Chronic Conflict Cycles: Moving away from the "attack-defend" or "pursue-withdraw" loops that leave both partners exhausted.

  • Life Transitions & Role Shifts: Managing the intense pressure of "adding a baby," transitioning into parenting, or handling professional burnout together.

  • Navigating Distance & Disconnect: Bridging the gap in long-distance relationships or addressing emotional loneliness within the same house.

  • Linguistic & Cultural Blending: Helping multicultural or expat couples align their communication styles, values, and expectations.

To do this, I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. I draw from evidence-based frameworks backed by research, tailoring them entirely to your unique goals. My integration includes Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) and traditional CBT for practical, day-to-day tool-building, alongside depth-oriented methods like Schema Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Gestalt, and Jungian psychology to address the root causes of systemic issues.

I am currently accommodating clients globally through online sessions, and I offer a limited number of in-person slots for face-to-face connection.
