About me

As a psychologist specializing in Gestalt psychotherapy, I offer a unique approach tailored to those facing the challenges of adapting to new cultures or re-adjusting when returning home. Having lived abroad for many years myself, I deeply understand the emotional and psychological struggles that expats and immigrants often face, particularly when dealing with culture shock, reverse culture shock, and the process of adaptation. My practice is centered on helping individuals navigate the complexities of living between cultures, whether it's managing the difficulties of settling into a new environment or re-integrating after a return to their home country. I provide a safe, supportive space for my clients to explore their feelings, gain insight, and work through the emotional hurdles that come with these transitions. If you're looking for someone who truly understands the challenges of living abroad and returning home, I am here to help you find balance, healing, and a deeper understanding of yourself.

Approach

Treatment Approaches
CounsellingRecommended for those who want to talk through their emotional challenges with a professional in a safe, supportive environment.
Gestalt therapyRecommended for those who want to focus on the present and take responsibility for their feelings and actions to promote personal growth.
My approach to therapy is rooted in Gestalt psychotherapy, a modern and highly effective form of therapy that emphasizes the "here and now." This means we focus on your present experiences, emotions, and thoughts, helping you become more aware of how you interact with the world around you and how those patterns affect your well-being. I take a phenomenological approach, which means we explore your unique perspective and experiences without judgment, allowing for a deeper understanding of your feelings and behaviors. This method helps you reconnect with yourself in an authentic way, leading to profound insights and personal growth. In Gestalt therapy, we also work with the body, recognizing that physical sensations are closely connected to our emotional and mental states. This mind-body connection is a key aspect of healing, as it allows for a more holistic approach to your therapy. Gestalt therapy is particularly effective in helping people navigate the emotional challenges of culture shock and reverse culture shock because it emphasizes awareness, presence, and integration of both the mind and body. When dealing with cultural transitions—whether adapting to a new culture abroad or reintegrating into one’s home culture after living abroad—Gestalt therapy provides a safe space for clients to fully experience and understand their emotions in the "here and now."

Experience

I am a Counseling Psychologist with a rich and diverse professional background, combining over a decade of experience in both mental health and corporate environments. My current work is grounded in Gestalt psychotherapy, where I provide compassionate, client-centered psychological support in private practice. With a focus on presence, authenticity, and the mind-body connection, I help clients navigate emotional challenges, interpersonal patterns, and personal growth. Before fully transitioning into private practice, I held senior positions in the pharmaceutical industry, where I developed strong strategic, interpersonal, and organizational skills. As a Key Account Manager at Ascend Laboratories in Chile, I built and maintained long-term relationships with major clients, drove sales performance, and managed cross-functional collaboration to ensure seamless client service. My earlier role as an Assistant Manager involved logistics coordination, client communication, and database managem

Education

I hold a Master’s degree in Psychology from the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Belgrade, where I built a strong academic foundation in clinical and counseling psychology. My studies provided in-depth training in psychological theory, research, assessment, and therapeutic practice, with a focus on understanding human behavior across various developmental stages and sociocultural contexts. Currently, I am completing a comprehensive training program in Gestalt Psychotherapy at the European Accredited Psychotherapy Training Institute – Studio for Gestalt Psychotherapy Education in Belgrade. This specialized education focuses on developing therapeutic presence, deepening client awareness, and fostering authentic self-expression. The program is designed to equip psychotherapists with tools to support individuals in managing psychological distress, increasing emotional resilience, and unlocking their full potential. My education reflects a deep and ongoing commitment to psychological growth, both professionally and personally. It has shaped my holistic, client-centered approach to therapy—grounded in self-awareness, empathy, and the integration of mind and body in the healing process.
