As a licensed Clinical Psychologist with about 11 years of experience in mental health industry and addiction, my bigger aim is to humanise mental illnesses and addicteion and look beyond labels.
I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist with 11+ years of clinical experience I understand mental health concerns, particularly addiction, as expressions of underlying emotional pain and trauma, rather than just diagnoses. I believe that while our experiences shape us, we also have the capacity to rewrite our narratives in meaningful ways. My approach to addiction therapy is trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and collaborative. Further, I aim to help individuals uncover their own stories of resilience and growth beyond diagnostic labels. Alongside my clinical work, I am a passionate researcher with interests in neuropsychology, music cognition, qualitative and mixed-methods research. I have also created Project She Still Rises, a letter-writing initiative for women navigating separation and divorce. I also care deeply about issues, such as animal welfare, social justice and dignity in mental health care. When I’m not in session, you can find me talking to my dogs or tending to my plants.
Therapeutic Approach My approach is integrative and draws on the following therapeutic frameworks in which I am trained: • Narrative Therapy • Dialectical Behavior Therapy • Schema Therapy • Resilience-focused Trauma Therapy • Relapse Prevention • Mindfulness-based Therapy
