About me

I am a licensed psychologist with an MSc in clinical psychology at Utrecht University, as well as a CBT psychotherapist in training. The first two years of my professional life I was working in the humanitarian field as a psychologist with various international organizations, offering my services to refugees living in Greece. Through my challenging experience in the field, I have gained experience in the field of trauma, grief, and psychosis and more specifically in the recovering from sexual trauma.

Besides my work in the field, I had the opportunity to work with many other organizations, specializing in mental and/or physical disabilities, through which I developed a holistic approach in my practice. My specialties include supporting individuals dealing with migration-related challenges, LGBTQIA+ concerns, sexual trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, and more. I usually use the first session to determine if I can best support the client’s needs. I am attuned to the experiences of individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds, particularly in matters of racism and discrimination.

At the moment I am based in Berlin and collaborating with Lebenshilfe social company while also offering psychological counselling sessions in my private practice.

Approach

Treatment Approaches
CBT: Cognitive behavioural therapyRecommended for those looking for practical support and accountability to change unhelpful thinking and behaviors.
Clinical psychologyRecommended for those who need help with diagnosing and treating more complex mental health issues, often involving assessments and evidence-based treatments.
MindfulnessMindfulness is the process of maintaining a purposeful moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, and surrounding environment.
Trauma informed careRecommended for those who have experienced trauma and need a safe, supportive space to heal at their own pace.

My approach in counselling is highly influenced from my Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy studies, but always adjusting to my client's needs. Cognitive behavioural therapy is a type of talking therapy that aims to change the way we think (cognition) and act (behaviour) in order to help cope with and manage problems we may face in our lives. It is based on the idea that our thoughts, feelings and behaviour are closely linked and influence each other. In addition to that, I integrate a psychosocial approach that acknowledges the influence of sociopolitical contexts on mental health. This means I consider each person within the larger systems they are part of—such as culture, community, and social structures—and how these intersecting factors shape their experiences, challenges, and well-being.
