About me

Hi :) good to see you here. I am Margherita and I trained to become a Clinical Psychologist (Msc) in the Netherlands. I am now completing my specialisation in Berlin in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy at Psychologische Hochschule Berlin. My experience is mostly related to helping young adults with anxiety, low mood, procrastination, relationship struggles and coping with loss. I am particularly interested in body image dissatisfaction, and wrote my first longitudinal study in the field of eating disorders and over-evaluation of weight in adolescence. I also finalised a cross-sectional study on romantic attachment and quality of life, topic I am quite passionate about too. Aside from it's Complicated and my traineeship hours in CBT, I work at the Emergency Unit of PHB in Berlin. I'm also currently working part-time in People & Culture in a company, focusing on employee wellbeing, engagement and satisfaction. If you want to found out more about me: a few years ago, I co-founded a mental health platform www.shrinkitout.com - we post articles, have a podcast.

Approach

Treatment Approaches
CBT: Cognitive behavioral therapyRecommended for those looking for practical support and accountability to change unhelpful thinking and behaviors.
Clinical psychologyRecommended for those who need help with diagnosing and treating more complex mental health issues, often involving assessments and evidence-based treatments.
CounsellingRecommended for those who want to talk through their emotional challenges with a professional in a safe, supportive environment.
My training is in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), an approach that focuses on identifying the unhelpful thoughts and feelings that shape our behaviour. These patterns often stem from deep-rooted core beliefs we hold about ourselves, others, and the world around us. Through CBT, we can challenge and re-shape beliefs that are no longer helpful, while making practical changes to everyday behaviours that reinforce them. In addition to CBT, my practice is informed by Emotionally Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Systemic-Relational approaches. These perspectives emphasise learning to stay present with our emotions rather than judging or reacting to them, and they highlight the importance of nurturing our relationships that give so much meaning to our lives.
