Bilingual psychologist (English/Italian) focused on uncovering client strengths and skill-building to ease distress and foster resilience for personal growth.
As a clinical psychologist with rich international experience, I specialize in guiding expats through their unique challenges. Fluent in both English and Italian, my approach focuses on empowering clients to unearth their inherent strengths and develop new skills, crucial in alleviating distress and suffering. My journey began in Italy, where I studied, but my passion for travel led me to live most of my life abroad. This personal and professional journey has equipped me with a deep understanding of the issues faced by whoever left its own country, including loneliness, isolation, language barriers, and self-esteem concerns. My goal is to not only help clients navigate these challenges, but also to assist them in recognizing and effectively utilizing their personal strengths.
My therapeutic approach has evolved from its roots in Psychodynamics to encompass a rich tapestry of techniques from various psychological disciplines. This eclectic blend includes elements from counseling, positive psychology, constructivist theories, gender studies, and notably, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Rather than adhering strictly to dynamic principles, my methodology is informed by this diverse spectrum of thought.
At the heart of my practice is the unwavering commitment to guide clients towards realizing their fullest potential, transcending beyond mere labels or diagnoses. I am devoted to helping each individual recognize their intrinsic worthiness of happiness, fulfillment, and personal growth, while acknowledging the unique value and profound uniqueness inherent in every person. To achieve this, my focus extends beyond merely identifying sources of pain. I delve into understanding the strategies and strengths each individual employs to navigate and conquer their challenges. These inherent strengths are harnessed as powerful allies in their journey of growth, fostering confidence and resilience as they confront and overcome life's obstacles.
Recognizing the uniqueness of each individual, I tailor my approach to suit their specific circumstances, challenges, and aspirations. This personalized strategy ensures that every client receives a therapeutic experience that resonates with and effectively addresses their unique needs and goals.
