Sometimes, when you’re feeling “off,” it can be difficult to understand exactly why. The swirling thoughts, overwhelming emotions, and inner confusion can leave you feeling disconnected, as though you’re losing touch with your sense of reality. My approach is to create a safe, supportive space where you can explore yourself openly and without judgment. Therapy, at its best, is a place where you can uncover your true thoughts, your genuine feelings, and most importantly, your authentic self.
I work from a modern psychodynamic perspective, which means I believe much of our behavior is shaped by internal forces—forces that may not always be obvious, especially during times of stress. In relationships, for example, we often find ourselves repeating patterns that may have once helped us cope but no longer serve us. These patterns can be difficult to break without awareness, and that’s where the therapeutic relationship becomes so powerful. The dynamic between us is key to the work we’ll do together, and I invite you to share openly about your feelings toward me, the therapy process, and anything else that arises. This openness allows us to explore and gently shift old habits of interaction.
In our first session, our main focus will be to establish a connection and see if we are a good fit for working together. I’ll ask you about what’s going on in your life, and together we’ll expand your understanding of your situation. We’ll also discuss your goals for therapy and explore how we might work together to achieve them. While it’s important to have direction and clarity from the start, I also believe that therapy is an evolving process, and it’s perfectly fine to allow space for things to unfold naturally. You are under no pressure to have all the answers or to explain yourself in any particular way. You are simply invited to be you.
