I am Margherita, I come from Italy and I completed my studies in Clinical Psychology (Msc) in the Netherlands.

My experience is mostly related to helping young adults with anxiety, low mood, procrastination, relationship struggles and coping with loss.
I am particularly interested in body image dissatisfaction, and wrote my first thesis in the field of eating disorders and over-evaluation of weight in adolescence. My second thesis was on romantic attachment and quality of life, topic I am quite passionate about too.
I now also work in the People & Culture department of ecolytiq (start-up in Berlin) where I am learning a lot about employee wellbeing, engagement and satisfaction.

I trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), the most evidence based technique at the moment. This is based on identifying the unhelpful thoughts and feelings that influence our behaviour. These thoughts and feelings tend to derive from core beliefs we have about ourselves, the world and others. CBT allows us to re-shape beliefs that are not functional in everyday life and to practically change the small behaviours that reinforce our beliefs.
I also have influences from emotionally-focused and acceptance and commitment therapy. These are important to learn to be with the emotions that come up instead of judging them and reacting to them.
