About me

Originally from Athens, Greece, I made the transition to Berlin in 2017, where I've since established my residence. My professional background lies in psychology, particularly in clinical psychology and psychoanalysis, with a dual focus on practice and research. Academically my focus has been in uncovering the role of defense mechanisms in shaping our perceptions of ourselves and others, as well as their impact on our narrative constructions.

Approach

Treatment Approaches
Clinical psychologyRecommended for those who need help with diagnosing and treating more complex mental health issues, often involving assessments and evidence-based treatments.
CounsellingRecommended for those who want to talk through their emotional challenges with a professional in a safe, supportive environment.
Psychodynamic therapyRecommended for those looking to explore their emotions deeply and understand how past experiences shape their present life.
My approach is heavily influenced by psychoanalysis, critical theory, as well as attachment theory and literature.

Having a psychoanalytic framework practically means that we give space to the idea that we are not only moved by things that we can consciously grasp, but we are also moved by unconscious mechanisms that have been deeply rooted in our psyche, sometimes even from a young age. Employing a psychoanalytic perspective, particularly a mentalization-based approach, we will work together to decipher these dynamics and construct a more nuanced understanding of yourself and your relationships with others. During our sessions I will encourage you to bring any topics you would like to discuss but also to use the so-called free association technique, where you will be free to say whatever emerges in your thoughts.

I am looking forward to meeting and working with you.
