My approach is heavily influenced by psychoanalysis, critical theory, as well as attachment theory and literature.
Having a psychoanalytic framework practically means that we give space to the idea that we are not only moved by things that we can consciously grasp, but we are also moved by unconscious mechanisms that have been deeply rooted in our psyche, sometimes even from a young age. Employing a psychoanalytic perspective, particularly a mentalization-based approach, we will work together to decipher these dynamics and construct a more nuanced understanding of yourself and your relationships with others. During our sessions I will encourage you to bring any topics you would like to discuss but also to use the so-called free association technique, where you will be free to say whatever emerges in your thoughts.
I am looking forward to meeting and working with you.
