About me

As a clinical psychologist and sociologist, I have been working within both disciplines on issues of psychological, psychosomatic and sexual conflicts, and suffering since my studies. For me, a psychodynamic approach is central to counseling, which means entering into a respectful and open-outcome process together. This can either take the form of an initial psychological assessment (one to three sessions) or regular counseling (once/several times a week) online. I am currently undergoing training as a psychological psychotherapist in depth psychology-based psychotherapy (tfP) and work as a research assistant at the Department of General Sociology | Cultural Sociology at the Humboldt University of Berlin. --- Please note: Due to my teaching activities at the Humboldt University of Berlin, initial psychological assessment or counseling cannot take place if you are studying social sciences there or intend to do so.

Approach

Treatment Approaches
CoachingRecommended for those who want support and motivation to achieve personal or professional goals, often with a structured, goal-oriented approach.
Person-centered approachRecommended for those looking for a supportive, non-judgmental space where they can lead the conversation and explore their feelings at their own pace.
Psychodynamic therapyRecommended for those looking to explore their emotions deeply and understand how past experiences shape their present life.
As a graduate of the International Psychoanalytic University (IPU), I take a psychodynamic approach. This is characterised by a patient-centred, open-outcome and accepting approach, through which there is especially room for difficult topics and feelings like shame, guilt, fear and many more. The aim of the counseling is to gain clarity about current issues and problems and to formulate solutions. Furthermore, time should be taken for reflection processes in order to learn to better understand one's own actions and feelings.

Experience

I gained clinical experience at the psychiatric clinics in Langen (Hesse) and at St Hedwig Hospital at Charité Berlin. During the coronavirus pandemic, I also worked in telephone counselling.
