Clinical Psychologist/ Heilpraktikerin für Psychotherapie with a focus on the latest Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approaches and Mindfulness.
I grew up in Thessaloniki, Greece, and am currently based in Berlin. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology and am licensed to practice in both Greece and Germany. My interest in psychology began with a fascination for dreams and the unconscious mind, and what continues to inspire me is the field's potential to deepen our understanding of ourselves and enrich our lives.
Over the years, I have lived, worked, volunteered, and travelled in various parts of the world, which has given me the opportunity to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and life experiences. Professionally, I have gained experience in Greece, Germany, and the Netherlands. My work has included supporting children, adolescents, and adults with developmental, cognitive, and mental health difficulties; providing counselling to university students dealing primarily with stress and social anxiety; and offering psychological support and psychotherapy to adults in private practice. I also spent two years working as a social worker in an integration-focused kindergarten in Berlin.
Alongside my clinical work, I collaborated with researchers at Leiden University for over a year on studies examining the transmission of social anxiety, contributing to the preparation of two review and meta-analysis papers.
I am deeply interested in both mental and physical wellbeing and enjoy supporting people in developing a greater understanding of themselves. For me, self-exploration often begins with becoming more aware of our inner dialogue, emotional patterns, relationships, and the ways we respond to life's challenges. I am also comfortable exploring existential, philosophical, and spiritual questions when they arise in therapy. My aim is to help clients cultivate greater awareness, balance, and compassion, and to develop a way of living that feels authentic and meaningful to them.
In my work, I draw on contemporary Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approaches, with a particular focus on Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), while receiving ongoing supervision from an experienced psychotherapist. I am also psychodynamically informed, which means that, alongside working with current difficulties and practical strategies, I pay attention to recurring emotional and relational patterns, earlier experiences, and the ways these may continue to shape your present life.
My approach can support a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety and phobias, depression, burnout, procrastination, low self-confidence, and other psychological challenges. My aim is not only to offer practical tools for navigating everyday struggles, but also to help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself, move towards a meaningful life, and cultivate greater compassion towards yourself and others.
Beyond conventional therapeutic approaches, my interests extend to practices such as yoga, breathing techniques, meditation, dream exploration, and hypnosis. I am trained in hypnotherapy and a certified yoga instructor, with additional experience in breathwork and meditation. I have also developed my work with dreams through extensive self-study and personal exploration. Where appropriate and aligned with your interests and therapeutic goals, I am open to integrating these elements into our sessions.
Our first appointment will usually take the form of an intake session, during which I will gather information about your background, current circumstances, and what brings you to therapy, guided in part by standardised questions. From there, we can collaboratively identify areas of focus and develop an initial direction for our work together. Subsequent sessions typically last around 50 minutes and are less strictly structured, allowing space to explore emerging themes while working towards your individual goals. Therapeutic methods and interventions are selected according to your needs rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.
I offer therapy on a weekly or biweekly basis. I do not offer sessions at a lower frequency, as I consider regularity and consistency important for building a stable therapeutic process and supporting meaningful, sustained work.
I welcome people of every race, gender, religion, ability, and sexual orientation, and aim to provide a respectful and inclusive therapeutic space.
If you cannot afford the standard fee but would still like to work with me, please feel free to get in touch, as a limited number of sliding-scale spots are available.
I look forward to hearing from you!
