About me

Whether you already met me in a clinical setting, were referred by a friend, or simply found me through this platform – I’m glad you’re here. My name is Johannes, I am a clinical psychologist, researcher, and trainer with a focus on experiential, mindfulness- and evidence-based approaches. Over the past decade, I have lived and worked in Sri Lanka, Singapore, Lithuania, Italy, and Cyprus. These experiences not only shaped me personally but also enriched my perspective as a psychologist, allowing me to bring sensitivity, curiosity, openness and a sense of adventure into my clinical work. Today, I am based in Berlin, where I work in a private psychiatric clinic with individuals and groups. Alongside my clinical practice, I am actively engaged in research within the field of Contextual Behavioral Science – the science behind Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I also provide advanced trainings for colleagues, particularly on ACT and psychedelic-assisted therapy, where I aim to connect cutting-edge science with practical therapeutic skills.

Approach

Treatment Approaches
ACT: Acceptance and Commitment TherapyRecommended for those who want to stop fighting negative thoughts and learn how to live with more acceptance and focus on what really matters in life.
Psychotherapy Recommended for those who want to work through emotional or mental health challenges by talking with a trained psychotherapist.
Systemic therapyRecommended for those who want to understand how their relationships and environments influence their behavior and emotions, particularly within family or organizational systems.
We are often convinced—by our environment, but also by the workings of our own mind—that there is an unchangeable truth. This state can provide a sense of safety, but in times of psychological struggle it can also feel confining and hopeless. If you hold the belief that your situation cannot change, you are not alone—and it is not your fault. Many of us unconsciously maneuver ourselves into patterns of avoidance, stuckness, or inner rigidity. The belief in an uncomfortable but seemingly stable answer can feel more comforting than opening up to liberating and uncertain questions. I have a deep trust in change, in psychological flexibility and adaptability—especially when they seem out of reach. Often, it is not the inner experience itself, but the struggle against it, that keeps us from what truly matters. And here, we do have influence. Because we are more than this struggle—more than the stories we tell ourselves every day. There is always another perspective, another path. Together, I want to explore these perspectives with you — in conscious connection with each other, and with ourselves, approaching mind and body with both mindfulness and playfulness. For me, mental health means rediscovering a sense of wonder—about what makes us who we are (and yes, sometimes what makes life heavy)—and about what becomes possible once we begin to ask the essential questions. What truly matters to you in life? And what is still waiting to be discovered?
