We can't "talk" our way through healing from trauma or difficult emotions (like anxiety, overwhelm, anger…) because words is the language of the BRAIN, but trauma & emotions are predominantly a somatic (body) experience, so we need to use the same language to heal it.
That’s why if you’ve been to talk therapy but no matter how much you “understand” or rationalise your problem it doesn't seem to go away, somatic therapy might be for you.
I use a combination of 2 somatic therapy modalities:
They incorporate Cognition + Emotions + Nervous System, which are the 3 necessary elements for healing.
Some women come to me for healing their anxiety, trauma, stuck emotions, numbness, repetitive triggers, relationships issues, self sabotaging behaviours, people pleasings patterns, nervous system dysregulation causing insomnia or physical symptoms (IBS, endometriosis, infertility, gut issues...) or internal conflict they wanna break free from.
"No amount of cognitive understanding and logical thinking can heal our emotional pain" that is why we must first enter the realm of the body.
Step 1: Healing The first step is to help you softy untangle the problem and its emotional weight. We do this through a gentle yet powerful modality called IFS (Internal Family System). This works by lovingly welcoming and discharging your body and mind from the accumulated burden. Creating a sense of internal harmony and internal peace between all the different parts of you. Restoring wholeness, so you can move forward again.
Step 2: Skills Learning Emotional Self Regulation, Nervous System Regulation, Self Soothing, Boundaries, Non-Violent Communication, Emotional Mastery, Vulnerability...
Step 3: Creating Once the emotional fog is gone and your body operates in harmony again, we can now engage with the Prefrontal Cortex part of your brain 🧠 for growth, actions and creation.
