About me
My name is Desire Azizoglu (she/them). I grew up in Istanbul and am of Turkish, Austrian, and Armenian descent. I studied Theatre—Film and Media Sciences in Vienna and worked in film sciences in Istanbul and arts and culture in Berlin.
After a time of reflection and of reorientating myself, I realized that I wanted to use my knowledge, time, energy, motivation and life-experience in a field, where I could support and accompany people on their path, whether this should entail emotional problems, mental health, psychiatric symptoms, life-changing events or their exploration of their personalities and their personal growth.

In the center of my approach stands the individuality of each person. And because everyone is different, I continuously learn new methods and gather more skills so I can offer each person multiple ways of support exactly in the way each person is open to receiving. I work invitational and trauma sensitive. I believe that inherently, each person knows what's best for them; they might have just gotten detached or distracted from that inner knowing.

Experience
I‘ve been working in private practice as a holistic therapist and mental health facilitator since 2020 in Berlin.
Before that I used to work as a mental health professional and a social worker, focusing on refugees who needed psychological support and counseling immediately after arriving in Berlin.
Earlier than that I worked as a student advisor and as an academic researcher at the Istanbul Bilgi University.
I offer my services in German, English and Turkish.
