Humanistic Counsellor Whether you are dealing with a life transition, feeling stuck or overwhelmed, I’m here to walk alongside you on your journey of self-discovery and healing. If you want a therapist who will provide w
Hi, I’m Susan, an English and German-speaking Berlin-based counsellor, helping people work through difficult issues in their lives. Born in Australia, I’ve lived in Germany now since 2018. As such I have personal experience living in different cultures and being challenged by new and unknown situations. My desire and ‘calling’ to practise as a counsellor has always been there, but the journey has been anything but linear! It started with a Bachelor of Science with psychology and chemistry majors, followed by a Masters of Science in Chemistry, then over 20 years working in Pharmaceuticals, then IT, and more recently a bout of a serious illness. Each of these shaped my understanding of resilience and growth, ultimately leading me to transition to the transformative work of therapy and my commitment to helping others. I see therapy as a down-to-earth conversation, where there’s room for humour, honesty, and the courage to face the harder stuff together. I value authenticity, encourage freedom of expression and will collaborate with you to create lasting meaningful change in your life.
Therapy, in my view, works best when it feels natural. As a humanistic counsellor how we relate to each other, and the connection between us, is just as important as the experiences you bring with you. I believe in creating a safe and confidential space, trusting you to decide the direction and pace that feels right for you. I believe each person is the expert in their own life, and as your therapist, I offer expertise in different ways of working that can help create change. Therapy is therefore a collaborative process. Together we can make sense of your experiences and uncover meaningful ways forward.
