Depending on your needs, I draw from both psychoanalytic psychotherapy and EMDR. That probably sounds like a mouthful, but in more straightforward language, it means we work together to understand the deeper emotional patterns, past experiences, and how we relate to others (so-called “attachment styles”) that may be contributing to whatever challenges you are now facing.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy endorsed by the World Health Organization for trauma treatment. It can also be effective for panic, performance anxiety, stress, and addictions.
Therapy with me is collaborative, and we pace it according to your needs. Understanding your needs might actually prove to be an important part of the process — they are not always obvious. Some clients come because they are struggling through a specific crisis, while others seek a deeper understanding of themselves and the patterns shaping their choices.
