When a client first comes to see me, I like to spend the first session getting to know them and connecting on what brings them to therapy. Once we begin building a connection, I then assess what therapeutic style might be helpful for that client. I believe that every client is their own individual, with their own personal needs, challenges, and strengths. Because of this, my therapeutic approach shifts, depending on what my client needs from me.
At the core of my work is Positive Psychology, where I focus on building and strengthening the self, fostering resilience, and encouraging personal growth. I integrate Person-Centered Psychology, allowing clients to lead sessions so that they can feel in control of their story. I also incorporate Psychodynamic Psychology to help clients identify patterns and behaviours rooted in past experiences, supporting deep emotional healing. And finally, I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to empower each client to navigate life with perspective and self-understanding.
My goal as your therapist is to provide you with a space where you can work on your healing and spend time growing at your own pace.
