About me

I’m Aline, a psychological counsellor (Psychologische Beraterin) with a university background in psychology and specialised training in psychoanalytic-informed counselling and intercultural psychology.

Since 2011, I have been dedicated to providing a safe, reflective, and collaborative space where you can explore your personal narrative, understand recurring life patterns, and develop meaningful self-awareness.

Focus Areas

As a specialist in migration and intercultural psychology, I focus on the unique emotional experiences of living abroad. Navigating international life often involves profound personal adjustments, from acculturation stress and feeling caught between cultures to isolation and major life reorganisations.

Drawing from a psychoanalytic framework alongside over a decade of experience in international HR and career consulting, I support adults with:

  • Migration & Cultural Adaptation: Navigating displacement, finding belonging, and managing the emotional challenges of building a life abroad.

  • Workplace Stress & Career Transitions: Addressing high-pressure corporate environments, imposter feelings, burnout prevention, and career crossroads.

  • Relational Patterns & Boundaries: Understanding repetitive dynamics in personal and professional relationships, communication blocks, and family-of-origin influences.

  • Life Transitions & Identity: Gaining clarity during major transitions, strengthening self-trust, and redefining personal direction and balance.

Approach

Treatment Approaches
PsychoanalysisRecommended for those who want to explore how their unconscious mind and early experiences affect their current behaviors and feelings.

My approach combines psychoanalytic-informed counselling with intercultural psychology to offer a warm, confidential, and reflective space for personal growth.

Rather than quick fixes, our focus is on understanding the deeper emotional roots behind what you are going through. Through active listening and collaborative dialogue, we work together to identify unconscious patterns, explore past experiences, and build authentic resilience.

Key elements of my counselling style include:

  • Psychoanalytic & Psychodynamic Insight: Unpacking recurring emotional habits, relational patterns, and internal conflicts at your own pace.

  • Culturally Sensitive & Migration-Focused: A tailored space for expats and international professionals navigating acculturation stress, belonging, and identity abroad.

  • Relational & Attachment Exploration: Understanding repetitive relationship dynamics, setting clear personal boundaries, and addressing family-of-origin influences.

  • Collaborative & Empathetic Dialogue: A non-judgmental environment focused on self-awareness, burnout prevention, and navigating major life transitions.
